Can you define "verse," "chorus," and "bridge" as it pertains to songwriting? How about "hook," "drop," or "breakdown?"
You might kinda know what they are without being able to define them exactly. Don't worry, this isn't a test and you're not alone. 😂
This week I'm dissecting all the various parts of a pop song (and all its crossover) and sharing some advanced tips that will help YOU write your next hit!

2019 has been one busy year...
I cannot believe it is already November. I mean, there has been SO MUCH that has happened in my career that I can't really believe less than 10 months ago I released "Utopia!" It seem so close, yet incredibly far away...
In one year I accomplished the following:
✅ More than Doubled my Subscriber Count on YouTube (almost to 1K!)
✅ Managed a special fan club on Patreon
✅ Posted new video content on YouTube almost every Wednesday
✅ Released a 10-part Vlog series
✅ Shared a Documentary about recording "Utopia"
✅ Released 1 new EP ("Utopia") as well as 2 standalone singles ("You'll Find Love" & "Ouija Board")
✅ Posted new content regularly on social media
✅ hit 40K streams on Apple Music
✅ Got playlisted on Spotify
I am so grateful to everyone who supports my music and videos. I really mean it. I can't thank you enough for choosing to listen to my songs, my voice and that some of you find my videos so helpful. I love what I do and it fills me with such joy knowing my content helps someone in some way. You are phenomenal and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
There's a lot more that I want to say, but I think I still need to find a day to catch up with myself and really reflect. So much has been happening in the background amidst all that and I want to share it, but it's not time yet. I need to take a beat in the fast-paced rhythm of this year.
And this year has been quite the year of milestones, that's for sure.
Until then, I just want to say thank you for getting me through 2019. I'm not sure I would have if it weren't for your love and continued support.
How much money do independent artists make? Where exactly does their money come from and how can you be sure you're collecting it all?
Well, today on YouTube I'm breaking this down because making money in the music industry can get pretty complicated so I'm gonna simplify it for you! There are 3 main areas where artists make money: Music Sales; Music Royalties; and Merchandise Sales.
We can even dive further into music royalties between Publishing, Writing, and Featured Artist. Take a look at the above video to uncover the average salary of an independent artist as well!

So for some reason I enjoy embarrassing myself so I guess I'm here to share my latest video on YouTube about my Rejected Song Lyrics. You might be familiar with my Rejected Song Titles series where I showcase some of my awful song titles from when I first started writing music, in which case here are some of the LYRICS that make up a few of those awful titles.
Now you'll REALLY get to know why they were rejected! 😂 Enjoy!

That's right! My new halloween-themed single, "OUIJA BOARD" has just dropped everywhere! It's a little different from music I've put out in the past, but it was an absolute blast to make.
Originally intended for my next record, after previewing the song on my Instagram and having my fans go WILD, I knew I couldn't sit on it.
However, that being said, consider this your first taste of my next album.
Even though my record is quite far off from being completed, this gives you an idea at the creative freedom I've been enjoying. I've been trying new things and stretching my artistic wings. Tbh, I hope it just makes you feel like a badass as well. 😈
Anyway check it out and let me know your favorite lyric!
Happy Halloween Season 🎃,
Just wanted to share a new video on my YouTube Channel titled, "How to Deal With Anxiety Before Releasing New Music." Everyone gets artistic self-doubt:
"Will they like my music?"
"Is my music ACTUALLY finished?"
"What if I get negative comments?"
"My music isn't trendy anymore -should I even put it out?"
The voices in our head fill us with the tendency to second-guess our art and protect it from judgement. So here are some tips on how to help you manage your stress before this exciting moment in your career!

"Spirit in the Dark
I'm sick of these games..."
October has arrived in full swing. The trees around my home studio have faded into vibrant reds, greens, yellows, and brown hues. The early morning or late even fog rolls in and everything seems a bit spookier. It's one of my favorite times of the year by far.
I think it's great to have a day (or month) where you're encouraged to be something you're not. To step outside your comfort zone and do something a little different. The same can be said with music as well. I love when artists shake it up a bit and throw fans a curveball that they might not be expecting. Balancing the familiar and unfamiliar, I love when artists take risks and own their decisions.
I'm not sure what I'm going as for Halloween yet, but I want to do something different. I usually play it pretty safe on Halloween, but idk, this year I want to be something scarier. Maybe I'll be a zombie or an evil vampire-super-grim-reaper-ghoul thing? 😂 Maybe I'll just play a few tricks this season, biding my time for something bigger.
Like I just did by writing this post.
See you soon,

Happy October! 🎃
Being an independent artists means not doing things they way they've always been done before. With technology and the internet the power is in YOUR hands when it comes to having a career in music! So today on my YouTube Channel, I decided to make a video covering some common questions YOU might get asked as an indie artist with some tips on how you can best answer them!

Newest video has been posted to YouTube! This week we're discussing who pays songwriters more for their music: Pandora or Tidal? It might seem like a slam-dunk at first, but thinks aren't always so black and white in the music industry, are they?
