It's been quite an insane few weeks in the world, hasn't it?

I've been trying really hard not to talk about the Coronavirus/COVID-19 on my social media pages because it's literally all anyone has been talking about. I thought maybe my pages could be a place where people could have a small "break" from seeing it every place imaginable. 

However today, I'm just going to share a little bit about my experience so far.

First of all, I'm healthy and so is my immediate family. We have been in self-isolation for almost an entire month now and have been trying to settle into our new routine. I was already in between moving homes anyway, so I don't have my recording equipment as it's all in boxes. I HAVE been writing a lot though! 😁📝

I live in a state with a stay-at-home order so we're doing our part to help flatten the curve. My immediate household has learned to sew CDC-Compliant face masks and have been donating them to places in need. The most important thing everyone can do right now is to stay home and stop the spread of the virus. I firmly believe that we can overcome this scary time if everyone, who is able to, follows protocols and safety procedures to the best of their abilities. 

Unfortunately, like so many people around the world, there are people in my family who have contracted COVID-19 and have been in self-isolation, trying to get better, as well. All I'm going to say is that this shit is serious and no joke. Stay home unless you must go out for essential supplies or have to go for work. 

I've also spent time thinking about how this will affect the music industry too.

The concert industry practically shut down. When it reopens, the competition for spots at live venues, for those that tour, is going to be INSANE. The influx of music released will be tremendous. I'm thankful for the streaming platforms we have today so that artists can still be paid royalties, but man once we are out of this, the industry, like many many others, will never be the same. I also think some AMAZING art is going to come out of this as well. 

Sometimes thinking about positives that could come from this pandemic helps on those days you feel most stressed.

Even though, as someone who struggles with their mental health, I've had my fair share of crippling panic attacks and times I scrubbed my hands too hard, I know that this is temporary. Eventually we will overcome what's happened and begin to rebuild especially for those who've lost their jobs, livelihoods, income, etc. My heart is with everyone in the meantime. 💗

So, do what you can. Just please, STAY HOME. That is the only way to stop the spread of this disease completely. We are living through an altering moment in history. I am sending you all my love through the internet.
