That's right! My new halloween-themed single, "OUIJA BOARD" has just dropped everywhere! It's a little different from music I've put out in the past, but it was an absolute blast to make.
Originally intended for my next record, after previewing the song on my Instagram and having my fans go WILD, I knew I couldn't sit on it.
However, that being said, consider this your first taste of my next album.
Even though my record is quite far off from being completed, this gives you an idea at the creative freedom I've been enjoying. I've been trying new things and stretching my artistic wings. Tbh, I hope it just makes you feel like a badass as well. 😈
Anyway check it out and let me know your favorite lyric!
Happy Halloween Season 🎃,
Just wanted to share a new video on my YouTube Channel titled, "How to Deal With Anxiety Before Releasing New Music." Everyone gets artistic self-doubt:
"Will they like my music?"
"Is my music ACTUALLY finished?"
"What if I get negative comments?"
"My music isn't trendy anymore -should I even put it out?"
The voices in our head fill us with the tendency to second-guess our art and protect it from judgement. So here are some tips on how to help you manage your stress before this exciting moment in your career!

"Spirit in the Dark
I'm sick of these games..."
October has arrived in full swing. The trees around my home studio have faded into vibrant reds, greens, yellows, and brown hues. The early morning or late even fog rolls in and everything seems a bit spookier. It's one of my favorite times of the year by far.
I think it's great to have a day (or month) where you're encouraged to be something you're not. To step outside your comfort zone and do something a little different. The same can be said with music as well. I love when artists shake it up a bit and throw fans a curveball that they might not be expecting. Balancing the familiar and unfamiliar, I love when artists take risks and own their decisions.
I'm not sure what I'm going as for Halloween yet, but I want to do something different. I usually play it pretty safe on Halloween, but idk, this year I want to be something scarier. Maybe I'll be a zombie or an evil vampire-super-grim-reaper-ghoul thing? 😂 Maybe I'll just play a few tricks this season, biding my time for something bigger.
Like I just did by writing this post.
See you soon,

Happy October! 🎃
Being an independent artists means not doing things they way they've always been done before. With technology and the internet the power is in YOUR hands when it comes to having a career in music! The problem is, many people don't understand what it means to be independent and why that could be a good thing! So today on my YouTube Channel, I decided to make a video covering some common questions YOU might get asked as an indie artist with some tips on how you can best answer them!
Check it out in the video above!
Newest video has been posted to YouTube! This week we're discussing who pays songwriters more for their music: Pandora or Tidal? It might seem like a slam-dunk at first, but thinks aren't always so black and white in the music industry, are they?

I just posted a new video discussing how indie artists can keep themselves safe while still having an open and honest relationship with their fanbase. I even touch on cancel culture and a very specific aspect about it I think every artist should be aware of.

Today, I wanted to share some ESSENTIALS for independent artists that they absolutely MUST HAVE on their websites! There's some good stuff this week and I'll also give you a secret for how to add a personal touch to your music website AND improve your SEO!

Autumn has Arrived! 🍂
The past year of my life has been quite the whirlwind. It's had it's ups and downs but I'm entering this season with a positive sense of self-worth and strength. Exactly one year ago I was preparing to begin my crowdfunding campaign for "Utopia" on Patreon. Now, I've got a wonderful fanbase there who have helped to drastically improve the quality of my recordings (and just added some new rewards too!)
From the launch of "Utopia" in January to the success of "Bitter" and ultimately "You'll Find Love," my goal for 2019 was to share as much new music as possible. I went a long time where no one cared about me nor my music and I wasn't about to let that go. I'm still not. I'm cherishing every single moment as we continue to grow.
It's no secret that I've been slowly working on my 6th studio album for the last few years in between mainline projects and recently, I've been making a lot of headway with it. My fans have consistently given me positivity to find strength in what I used to believe were my greatest weaknesses. I'm an independent artist who lives in a town where his style of music just doesn't do well -and yet, I'm thriving.
Am I perfect? Far from it. I do all of this work primarily by myself. Even if I'm not doing the exact task myself, I'm still coordinating it from emails, my patreon page, this blog, music videos, photo shoots, writing, producing, etc. It can be a bit hectic but I guess without being aware of it I learned how to juggle really well!
My point is, if there's anything I've learned this year it's to trust in uncertainty. Things have a funny way of working out in the end and if it's not all worked out -it's not the end yet. There's always a lesson to learn, something bigger than ourselves at times. Let go of trying to control EVERYTHING and focus on what you already have control OF.
I'm making the music I was born to create. I cannot wait for you to hear it and experience that with me.
Luckily, you'll hear a sample of it a lot sooner than you think. 😉

Imagine working for 10+ years creating music from your heart and personal experiences and not actually OWNING a single song. Then one day those songs are magically sold overnight to someone else and you have no legal ground to buy them back.
Unfortunately this is what happened recently with Taylor Swift and it's a sad reality for many artists in the music industry as a whole.
You see, many people don't understand that when you get signed to a label -that's a loan you have to pay back before you ever start seeing money.
In Taylor's example, she got advances from her ex-label Big Machine, to record and produce 6 albums and after a certain amount of time she'd be able to buy them back. Unfortunately that time wasn't up when Taylor left Big Machine so they were able to sell the licensing rights to her music without her consent as she TECHNICALLY didn't own them.
A similar experience happened to R&B-Pop singer JoJo who was in a long-running legal battle with her ex-record label, Blackground after they kept her in "music limbo" for over 10 years leaving her unable to release new music. (This was just after her song, "Too Little, Too Late" when #1 in 2006.) She won her case, however in the fight she lost her ownership of her entire first two albums!
Luckily, she surprise re-recorded them both and released them at the end of the last year and now she's INDEPENDENT and doing very well!
Being an Independent Artist in the Music Industry is TOUGH.
But being signed to a record label is TOUGHER.
There is so much you have to do for yourself and manage. From big things like where you're touring, ticket prices, etc to smaller things like website design and social media management.
However, being independent means you have TOTAL CONTROL and TOTAL CREATIVE FREEDOM to do what you want and how you want it. You also maximize your profits because you OWN EVERYTHING!
I made a video for my YouTube Channel discussing this further so be sure to check it out, but moral of the story - OWN YOUR MASTERS!
