“War With Love” is the epitome of 2016 for me. 💠I had no money. 💠My grandma had passed away. 💠I barely could afford to feed myself, my brother, and 3 dogs so some days I had to skip meals so our dogs had food. 💠Many of my friends had left me for various reasons. 💠I was struggling to get my business off the ground again after being away for 2 years. 💠I couldn’t find a second job to bring a steady income in 💠trump became president and many of my family members sided with him over me and my fears (which have almost all come true since the election) 💠My Dad decided to sell my childhood home in Tigard which eventually left me homeless for a little while 💠I was in debt up to my ears 💠I had gained a ton of weight rapidly even though we were struggling to afford groceries 💠I almost gave it all up. Now, I have a small, but dedicated fan base of over 32,000 people. I’m working harder than ever taking classes in audio engineering, music production, and music marketing. I’m losing weight. I have 100% creative control over my entire business, Level 2 Entertainment. I also teach pop songwriting on YouTube every Wednesday. Don’t tell me I’ve never struggled. Don’t tell me I don’t know what it means to work hard and get feel like you’re getting absolutely nowhere. I hated looking in the mirror. I was constantly looking for approval from those who just didn’t care about what I was doing. I was trying to be what I thought I needed to be in order to make it. But you know what changed everything? My self-confidence. When I chose to be 100% authentically me online, in person, etc and STOP listening to what everyone else was saying -everything changed. Now I love who I am and I call other people out who try to bring me down by reminding them that it won’t work anymore. Confidence in my opinions and convictions changed my whole life. I still have a long road ahead but I have no doubt I’m on the path that I was always meant to be on. I knew “War With Love” would be my first single six months before it was ever released. Even longer, It’s taken me almost ELEVEN YEARS to see any kind of success from my talents as an independent musician. To everyone else out there struggling. I’m with you. We are in the trenches together. Growing a business online is not easy but eventually, with complete dedication and focus and not caring at ALL what others think, you do start to see a light at the end of the tunnel. My next EP is that light for me. I am so ready to show the world what I can do and this will be unlike any other music I have ever released. Its the first time I’m not only writing my truths, but I’m SHOWING them as well. It’s not quite finished yet but you’ll know when it is, in due time.
