I Forgot How Cold It Used to Be...

☀️ Spring is Just About Here! ☀️

This winter was a bit chaotic but I've been staying busy. I really dove into writing my upcoming 6th album, challenging myself on my own "standards." Mixing up the way I write things, how I go about things, and experimenting with unusual sounds and VSTs. 

For example, I typically write a song literally from start to finish: Intro all the way to climax and ending. This time however, I've started in the middle and built around the chorus, which is very usual for my organized Virgo ass. 😂 

I've also taken great care to push myself lyrically as well. 

I've been pushing myself to get out of writing my typical way and feeling like I'm saying the same things over and over again. 🙅🏼‍♂️ Beautiful art comes from the real stuff and out of our worst experiences. I've really been working on myself by writing about subjects I typically don't allow myself to touch. It's been such a cathartic experience. 

This is my 6th album and I really want that to MEAN something.

I don't want to make music that I hope will be the music that "gets me on the map." I'm passed that fear. I just want people to love my songs and listen to the stories I want to tell. I hope that my fans feel connected to me more than ever with this record.

I know a lot of musicians say "albums are dead" in the digital age, but I respectfully disagree. To me, making an album is no different than writing a book. 📚Each song is a chapter in a body of work that tells a bigger story. The words and metaphors contained in that storybook provide powerful messages that I know many people still appreciate. Myself, included.

🔴 I don't know when this album will be out, but I know it absolutely will be the best work I've ever done. I want to make sure every aspect has a purpose and sounds "just right." 

Don't forget to keep your eyes peeled too. You never know when I might drop hints and secrets!
